Research Interests:

I am generally interested in microbiology and biochemistry. However the physiology was higher organisms does fascinate me as well. Lately I found my interest for chemistry, especially with regard to natural products. Besides that I am curious about the aquatic life in general which includes ecology of marine organisms and their role in elemental cycling, biogeochemistry, issues connected to global change and human interference with the Oceans.
